Step One

Get your phone's Snapchat app open. You must download it from the App Store or Play Store and create an account if you don't already have it.

Snapchat opens the camera automatically when you launch the app. A horizontal menu will be visible beneath the camera screen. Press the "Chat" symbol, which resembles a text bubble. By doing this, you'll be able to send Snaps to your friends and view messages on the chat screen.

Step Two

A circular blue button sits atop the horizontal menu bar at the bottom right corner of the screen. You can start a new chat with friends by clicking this button. Give it a tap.

Just below the contact search window, tap "New Group." This will allow you to choose group members and enter a new group name.

Give the group chat a name by filling out the "New Group Name" field. Later on, you can also change the group name.

Choose which friends to add to your group chat. To expand your group, you can choose to include up to 100 friends.
