ChainLink β€” A Global Prayer Community App That Connects Believers Across Borders

We partnered with ChainLink to give believers worldwide a place to share prayer needs, stand in the gap for others, and grow through structured Bible reading, all inside one app. The solution included a prayer warrior network, a 66-book Bible reading module, course-based notifications, and support for six regional languages.

About ClientΒ

Chainlink started with a straightforward beliefβ€”that prayer is more powerful when it's shared. The client, based in India, wanted a dedicated space for Christians worldwide to post their prayer needs, have others pray for them, and see exactly how many people were lifting them. The concept went beyond a prayer board. They wanted structured Bible reading with real accountabilityβ€”courses, daily reminders, and chapter-by-chapter progressβ€”so users weren't just reading passively but working through God's Word at their own pace, in a platform built to be global from the start.

The platform also needed to make faith feel more connected and personal across borders. Users could discover prayer requests, support one another, and build a consistent spiritual routine through guided content. Every feature was designed to encourage participation rather than passive consumption.

About Client Gmta

Why ChainLink Chose Us

Chainlink GMTA

The client had looked at general-purpose community apps, off-the-shelf church management tools, and basic Bible reading apps, and none of them combined what they had in mind. They needed a custom build with real-time engagement tracking, multilingual support, and a notification system tied to course progress.

Our experience with Flutter-based cross-platform apps gave them confidence on the technical side. What sealed it was our approach to discovery β€” we asked specific questions about how prayer warriors would be matched to requests and how emergency submissions should behave differently, which told the client we understood the product, not just the code.

Want to Build Something That
Means Something?

If you have an idea for a community, spiritual, or faith-based app that needs real custom thinking behind it, not just a templated build, we're the right team to talk to.

Our Approach

Mapping the Full User Journey Before Any Wireframe

Mapping the Full User Journey Before Any Wireframe

ChainLink has two very different users doing very different things inside the same app β€” someone posting a prayer request is on a completely different emotional and functional path than a prayer warrior scanning the feed for people to support. We mapped both journeys separately from the start, identified exactly where they intersect within the product, and made sure that design decisions serving one user type never accidentally damaged the experience of the other. This exercise also surfaced the emergency prayer feature as something needing its own distinct path, kept deliberately separate from the regular submission flow entirely.

Flutter for Consistency Across Devices and Markets 02

Flutter for Consistency Across Devices and Markets

With users expected from India, Africa, the Americas, and Europe, device diversity was a genuine concern from the earliest planning stages of this project. Flutter's single codebase gave us consistent rendering across both iOS and Android without the overhead of maintaining two separate platform-specific codebases in parallel throughout development. It also made the six-language runtime switching significantly easier to implement cleanly, since we weren't managing separate string systems for each platform independently.

The Course Notification Engine 03

The Course Notification Engine

We built the course system as a fully configurable scheduling engine from the ground up, rather than a fixed reading plan. When a user selects a course type β€” monthly, quarterly, or yearly β€” the engine divides the entire Bible's content into daily reading assignments based on that course's total duration automatically. Each morning, Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers a personalised push notification specifying exactly which book and chapters are assigned for that day, tailored to the individual user.

Backend Architecture Built

Backend Architecture Built Around Real-Time Engagement

The prayer view and prayer count features needed a backend genuinely designed for concurrent access at scale, not one retrofitted after the fact to handle load. We used Laravel for the core API with MySQL as the primary database, and SQLite for local caching on the device itself to reduce unnecessary network calls. JWT-based authentication kept sessions secure and consistent across both the mobile app and the web-based admin panel simultaneously.

Process We Followed

01 Mapping the Spiritual and Technical Journey Mapping the Spiritual and Technical Journey
Mapping the Spiritual and Technical Journey

Mapping the Spiritual and Technical Journey

We began by mapping both user journeys and the Bible content structure together, so reading progress, course assignments, and manual reading all referenced the same data from day one. This created a single source of truth for the entire reading experience. It also made progress tracking consistent across guided courses and independent study. As a result, users could switch between different reading modes without losing context or continuity.

  • User journey mapping
  • Bible content structure planning
  • Course scheduling logic documentation
  • API contract definition

Structuring the App and Admin Panel Together

We designed the mobile app and admin dashboard around one shared API layer, so prayer oversight, moderation, and course configuration stayed in sync with the live app. This kept content and administrative changes consistent across the platform. It also gave the team a reliable foundation for managing a growing global user base across different regions, time zones, and communities without creating unnecessary operational complexity.

  • Prayer submission and warrior flow design
  • Course engine architecture
  • Multilingual framework design
  • Admin panel workflow mapping

Building and Testing Across Six Languages

Building and Testing Across Six Languages

Our team built both apps from one Flutter codebase, testing course notification timing, prayer count accuracy, and runtime language switching across all six languages at every build cycle, while validating platform-specific behavior, performance, and user flows across multiple device configurations to ensure stable releases, predictable interactions, and a consistently reliable experience for users everywhere.

  • Flutter app development
  • Prayer count and notification testing
  • Multilingual QA across all languages
  • Beta testing and phased launch
