About Client

GlamGo was built on a frustration most people have had at some point: you want a professional hair treatment, a facial, or a manicure, but you don't want to drive across town, sit in a waiting area, and work your schedule around a salon's availability. The client's question was whether it was possible to bring professional-quality beauty services directly to the customer — at home, at the office, wherever made sense — without sacrificing the quality or the booking experience.

Their answer was a three-sided platform. Customers book on demand or schedule in advance, choosing from a range of beauty treatments and filtering by service type, beautician rating, and location. Beauticians manage their availability, accept bookings that match their skill set and location, travel to the customer, and get rated after each appointment.

Three-sided marketplaces are a different kind of engineering problem than two-sided ones. A customer booking a taxi involves two parties and one transaction. GlamGo involved three parties — customers, service providers, and the platform itself — each needing their own app, their own data model, and their own user experience, all communicating through shared backend logic. Most booking app templates don't account for that complexity.

The client had looked at white-label booking solutions and found that they were designed for salon businesses, not for an at-home delivery model. There was no live tracking of a provider in transit, no location-based matching that accounted for travel time, and no availability management built around a beautician's schedule rather than a fixed salon's opening hours. These were product requirements that needed a custom build.

Customer and Provider Apps

iOS (Swift) and Android development of both the customer and service provider applications in parallel. Customer app: service browsing, booking flow, live tracking map, payment gateway integration, loyalty dashboard, messaging, and rating submission. Provider app: onboarding, availability calendar, booking management, earnings view, navigation handoff, and real-time status updates. Background GPS implementation and battery optimization were handled during this phase for both platforms.

Admin Panel

Web admin panel built on Laravel covering onboarding review, booking monitoring, provider and customer management, service area configuration, promotions management, quality tracking, and financial reporting. Admin panel QA focused specifically on real-time data accuracy—verifying that admin actions (account suspensions, pricing changes, and service area updates) propagated immediately and correctly to the customer and provider apps.

QA, Beta Testing, and Launch

End-to-end testing of the complete booking lifecycle across all three panels simultaneously. Specific test scenarios included live tracking accuracy during a full transit journey, loyalty point calculation across multiple booking types, availability slot locking under concurrent booking attempts, provider matching results with various schedule and location configurations, and admin moderation actions reflecting in real time across both mobile apps.
