Lordiga β€” Building a Real-Time Logistics Platform That Keeps Shipments Moving

A startup's vision of stress-free shipping β€” built into a fully coordinated iOS and Android platform helping customers book, track, and manage shipments while giving dispatch real-time control over every delivery.

About The Client

Lordiga was built around a frustration most shipping customers know well: booking a delivery means calling around, waiting for a callback, and then having no real visibility into where the shipment actually is until it shows up, or doesn't. The client's question was whether a single app could remove that uncertainty β€” letting customers book a shipment, schedule a pickup, and track it live from collection to delivery, while giving the operations team real-time control over which driver was handling what.

Their answer was one connected platform. Customers book shipments, choose pickup times and locations, track delivery live via GPS, and rate the service afterward. Dispatch assigns shipments to drivers manually when needed, monitors performance in real time, and resolves disputes directly from one Laravel admin panel.

About Client Gmta

Why Lordiga Chose Us

Lordiga GMTA

Logistics platforms are a different kind of engineering problem than a standard booking app. Lordiga needed real-time GPS tracking that stayed accurate throughout a shipment's journey, a booking flow simple enough for a first-time customer, and dispatch tooling that let operations assign, monitor, and resolve issues without switching between disconnected tools. Most white-label delivery templates handle booking but not live operational control.

The client had looked at generic logistics templates and found tracking unreliable, manual driver assignment absent, and no structured way to handle disputes or complaints from customers. There was no unified view of active shipments, pending deliveries, and driver performance in one place, and no reporting layer to understand delivery efficiency over time. These were product requirements that needed a custom build.

Challenges That Shaped the Build

Building a Logistics or Delivery Management Platform?

Real-time tracking, streamlined booking, and dispatch control all need to work together, not as separate features bolted onto a generic delivery app.

Our Approach

Real-Time GPS Tracking Built for Continuous Accuracy

Real-Time GPS Tracking Built for Continuous Accuracy

Every driver's location updates continuously throughout a shipment's journey, from pickup confirmation through to final delivery, rather than refreshing on a fixed interval that could leave customers looking at outdated information. We built the tracking layer to push location updates as they happen, so a customer checking the app mid-delivery sees the driver's actual current position, not a snapshot from several minutes earlier. This mattered particularly for time-sensitive shipments, where a customer waiting at a delivery address needs confidence that the estimated arrival time reflects what's actually happening on the road, not a static prediction made at pickup.

A Booking Flow Built for First-Time Customers 02

A Booking Flow Built for First-Time Customers

We designed the booking flow around getting a customer from opening the app to a confirmed shipment in as few steps as possible, without skipping the details dispatch actually needs. Pickup time, location, and shipment specifics are captured in a short, guided sequence rather than a single dense form, so first-time customers aren't intimidated by what looks like a freight company's paperwork. Each step was refined through usability testing to reduce drop-offs and improve booking completion rates across both new and returning customers.

Dispatch Tooling Built Around Manual Control 03

Dispatch Tooling Built Around Manual Control

Automated driver matching handles most assignments, but dispatch needed a genuine manual override for situations the algorithm couldn't judge well β€” a specific driver already near a pickup location, or a customer request tied to a particular vehicle type. We built manual assignment directly into the same shipment overview dispatch already uses daily, so reassigning a shipment takes a few taps rather than a trip to a separate tool, reducing delays during high-demand operational periods significantly.

One Dashboard for Shipments, Performance, and Disputes

One Dashboard for Shipments, Performance, and Disputes

Rather than building shipment tracking, performance reporting, and dispute resolution as three separate admin sections, we connected them on one shared dashboard giving operations a single, real-time view of daily activity. Active shipments, pending deliveries, and driver performance metrics sit alongside dispute and complaint tools, so a delivery issue can be investigated and resolved without switching between disconnected screens. This structure meant the operations team could spot a pattern, a specific driver's delivery times slipping, for instance, and act on it immediately, rather than discovering the trend weeks later in a separate report.

Process We Followed

01 Discovery and Tracking Architecture Discovery and Tracking Architecture
Discovery and Tracking Architecture

Discovery and Tracking Architecture

Before development began, we mapped how GPS updates, booking data, and dispatch assignments needed to flow together, defined the real-time tracking model, and designed the admin dashboard around how operations would actually monitor shipments day to day. This upfront planning reduced workflow bottlenecks and ensured dependable shipment visibility from the first deployment.

  • Real-time GPS tracking architecture mapped
  • Booking flow and pickup scheduling defined
  • Manual assignment and dispatch workflow planning
  • Admin panel wireframes and dispute resolution flow design

Core Development β€” Apps and Admin Panel

The customer app, driver-facing tracking, and admin panel were developed concurrently, with continuous GPS updates, streamlined booking, and dispatch tooling built in parallel rather than sequentially, to keep shipment data consistent across every surface from the start. This parallel approach minimized integration issues and ensured reliable data consistency throughout the development lifecycle, across all connected platforms.

  • Continuous GPS tracking pipeline built first
  • Streamlined booking flow with saved address and payment details
  • Admin panel built as a first-class product β€” shipments, drivers, and disputes
  • iOS Swift and Android apps integrated against the same backend

QA, Load Testing, and Launch

All tracking, booking, and dispatch flows were tested against real-time accuracy, manual assignment reliability, and dispute resolution tracking before submission to the App Store and Google Play. Cross-platform validation also confirmed consistent shipment status, driver updates, and booking data across every supported device, ensuring dependable performance under real-world operating conditions.

  • Real-time GPS accuracy testing throughout a shipment's journey
  • Manual driver assignment testing under active dispatch load
  • Dispute and complaint resolution workflow testing
  • Launch across iOS, Android, and the web admin panel
