About Client

MHome was built around a frustration most homeowners know well: booking a handyman usually means calling around, describing the problem twice, and hoping someone shows up on the day and time they agreed to. The client's question was whether a single app could remove that friction entirely β€” letting homeowners browse service categories, see clear pricing upfront, pick a date and time that actually works, and track the job status from booking through completion without a single phone call.

Their answer was one connected platform. Customers browse service categories, check clear descriptions and prices, schedule a booking for their preferred date and time, and manage their address book and service history in one place. Administrators manage service providers, categories, pricing, and job requests from a single Laravel panel. keeping operations organized, efficient, and centrally managed.

About Client Gmta

Why MHome Points Chose Us

Manage MyWork GMTA

Home service booking apps look simple on the surface, but the scheduling and provider management underneath is a different kind of engineering problem than a basic catalogue app. MHome needed clear service categorisation with transparent pricing, flexible date-and-time scheduling, and real-time order status updates working together, not as separate features bolted onto a generic booking template. Most white-label service apps handle listings but not genuine job tracking.

The client had looked at generic on-demand service templates and found provider management shallow, role-based admin access absent, and no structured way to track job requests from booking through completion. There was no clean separation between service categories and provider assignment, and no analytics layer showing the admin team how the platform was actually performing. These were product requirements that needed a custom build.

Challenges That Shaped the Build

Building a Project Management or Team Productivity Platform?

Multi-module cohesion, dynamic role-based access, and real-time sync across web and mobile all need to work together, not as separate features bolted onto a generic task list.

Our Approach

Structured Service Listings With Transparent Pricing

Structured Service Listings With Transparent Pricing

Rather than treating service descriptions as an afterthought, we built structured listings where every category carries fine-grained descriptions and clear, upfront pricing before a customer ever reaches checkout. This meant homeowners could compare services confidently, knowing exactly what was included and what it would cost, without needing to call for a quote first. We treated pricing transparency as a trust mechanism rather than just a display feature, since a customer who feels confident about cost upfront is far more likely to complete a booking than one left guessing until the final screen.

Precise Scheduling Built Around Real Availability 02

Precise Scheduling Built Around Real Availability

The booking flow lets customers select an exact date and time rather than a broad availability window, giving both the homeowner and the assigned provider a clear, mutually understood appointment to work around. We built this scheduling logic to check real provider availability before confirming a slot, so a customer never books a time that later turns out to be unavailable. This reduced scheduling conflicts while improving provider utilization across daily operations efficiently, without increasing administrative workload or manual coordination.

Provider Management Built for a Growing Network 03

Provider Management Built for a Growing Network

The admin panel gives administrators structured tools to add, update, and manage service providers, assigning them to the categories they're qualified for without the process becoming a manual bottleneck as the network expands. Each provider profile connects directly to job request tracking, so administrators can see which providers are handling which bookings without cross-referencing separate systems, improving workforce visibility, resource allocation, response times, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Real-Time Status Tracking From Booking to Completion

Real-Time Status Tracking From Booking to Completion

Every booking moves through defined status stages, visible to the customer in real time from confirmation through to job completion, so homeowners always know where things stand without needing to call for an update. We built this status layer to update automatically as job requests progress through the admin panel, keeping the customer app and the operations team working from the same current information. This removed a common source of customer anxiety in service booking apps, where silence between booking and arrival is often mistaken for something having gone wrong.

01 Discovery and Booking Architecture Discovery and Booking Architecture
Discovery and Booking Architecture

Discovery and Booking Architecture

Before development began, we mapped how service categories, pricing, and scheduling needed to relate to each other, defined the provider management model, and designed the admin panel around role-based access from the start. This upfront planning established a scalable operational structure that supported consistent service management as the platform expanded.

  • Service category and pricing structure mapped
  • Scheduling and availability logic defined
  • Provider management workflow planning
  • Admin panel wireframes and permission model design

Core Development β€” Apps and Admin Panel

The customer app and admin panel were developed concurrently, with structured service listings, precise scheduling, and real-time status tracking built in parallel to keep booking data consistent across both surfaces from day one. This parallel development approach reduced integration complexity and ensured reliable operational consistency across every user touchpoint.

  • Structured service listings with transparent pricing built first
  • Precise date-and-time scheduling implemented in the booking flow
  • Admin panel built as a first-class product β€” providers, categories, and roles
  • iOS Swift and Android Kotlin apps integrated against the same backend

QA, Booking Flow Testing, and Launch

All booking, scheduling, and status flows were tested against provider availability accuracy, role-based access boundaries, and real-time status reliability before submission to the App Store and Google Play. Cross-platform validation also confirmed consistent booking records, provider updates, and service status synchronization across every supported device.

  • Scheduling and provider availability accuracy testing
  • Role-based admin access and permission boundary testing
  • Real-time order status update testing across the booking lifecycle
  • Launch across iOS, Android, and the web admin panel
